“Joining this writing group was the best thing that ever happened to my fiction. I always come back from reviews with concrete suggestions on how to improve my writing and it’s such a fun group that I look forward to every meeting.”

Favorite Mystery Authors:

Michael Connelly
I’ve been inspired by the exquisite plotting and depth of character in his novels. He also has a very nice website with cool photos.

P.D. James
She’s really the author that got me hooked on mysteries in the first place. I saw her at Cody’s bookstore in Berkeley many years ago when she did a book tour for “Devices and Desires.” This novel has one of the best opening scenes I’ve ever read.

John Dunning
“Booked to Die” has a cult following among mystery readers.

James M. Cain
I loved both “Mildred Pierce” the novel and the classic film with Joan Crawford. The story is set in my hometown of Pasadena and Veda is my favorite villain of all time.
